After high school, he attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and graduated with a B.S. in Applied Mathematics in 2003. While in undergrad, David was awarded the Undergraduate Teaching Assistantship, which was given to outstanding undergraduate students to become a teaching assistant within the Mathematics Department. After graduation in 2003, David began to work in finance at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. He started out trading US Treasuries for a proprietary trading firm. After about two years, he switched products and began trading Eurodollar Futures and Options, also with another proprietary trading firm. Though the experience was truly one of a kind, in 2007 he decided to change direction and return to academia. In the fall of 2007, David enrolled in Georgetown University's graduate program in Applied Mathematics and Statistics. While attending Georgetown, he was fortunate enough to land an internship at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland by way of INSPIRE. In 2013, he completed his PhD in Applied Mathematics at Northwestern University while doing his research and holding a post at Argonne National Laboratory. He is now employed as an Engineer at Datrium in San Francisco, California. |
