Mission | History | Leadership | Julia Martas Grades 6-12 STEM Educational Advisor Julia Martas, a former Director of Special Education Instructional Services, has spent the last decade successfully promoting civil rights and equity in STEM career development and career pathways for women and minorities. Julia has served as educator and administrator in New York, Illinois, and the District of Columbia, founded the DC Young Women’s Conference on Non-Traditional STEM Careers for grades 7 through 1st year college http://www.aaas.org/news/releases/2012/0321nontraditional_careers.shtml and has also served as President of the National Alliance for Partnerships in Equity. She received post graduate degrees from City University of New York with doctoral studies at New York University, and was awarded the National Career and Technical Education Equity Council’s 2010 Life Membership Award for outstanding commitment to equity in career and technical education. |
